Ingredients

Main Dough

  • 2 ¼ cups (280 g) all‑purpose flour
  • 2 ½ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) melted unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Cinnamon Sugar Swirl

  • ¼ cup (50 g) brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Glaze (Optional)

  • ½ cup (60 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk (adjust for consistency)

Instructions

Assembling the Roll‑Ups

  1. Roll Out the Dough. Punch down the risen dough and roll it on a parchment‑lined sheet into a rectangle about ¼‑inch thick, roughly 12×9 inches.
  2. Spread the Filling. Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the entire surface, leaving a ½‑inch border around the edges.
  3. Layer the Cinnamon Swirl. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter. Sprinkle this mixture over the cream cheese, pressing gently so it adheres.
  4. Roll and Slice. Starting from the long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal. Using a sharp serrated knife, cut the log into 8 equal pieces, about 1‑inch thick.
