Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 6 large egg‑roll wrappers
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Vegetable & Condiment Mix

  • ¼ cup dill pickle relish
  • ¼ cup finely diced onion (white or yellow)
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup

Seasonings & Binding

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Egg Wash & Finishing

  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon water (to thin egg wash)
  • Cooking spray or a light drizzle of oil

Instructions

Assembling the Egg Rolls

  1. Lay out a wrapper. Place an egg‑roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner pointing toward you (diamond orientation). This makes rolling easier and prevents tearing.
  2. Add the filling. Spoon about 2‑3 tablespoons of the beef mixture onto the center of the wrapper. Sprinkle a generous handful of shredded cheddar over the meat, allowing it to melt slightly as you roll.
  3. Roll tightly. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the side corners, and continue rolling toward the top corner. Brush a little beaten egg on the final edge to seal the roll securely.
  4. Repeat. Continue the process with the remaining wrappers and filling, keeping the assembled rolls covered with a damp towel to prevent drying.
