I Was in Labor, and My Doctor Husband Denied My C-Section, Forcing Me to Deliver Naturally Against All Odds

I Was in Labor, and My Doctor Husband Denied My C-Section, Forcing Me to Deliver Naturally Against All Odds Save

Contractions Rage, Silence Holds

I clutched the cold metal rail, each wave of pain tearing through my ribs like a freight train.

Cameron’s eyes never left the monitor; the beeps rose and fell while his jaw stayed set.

“Turn off the epidural,” he said, voice flat, as if I were asking him to turn down the lights.

My throat burned, but the words that escaped were a ragged plea.

“Cameron, please—”

He brushed me aside, the word “please” slipping through the static of the room.

Sophie hovered, her hands trembling slightly as she adjusted the IV line.

“Dr. Bennett,” she whispered, “the baby’s measurements are far beyond the expected range. Her vitals are deteriorating.”

The attending doctor, Dr. Hale, leaned over the screen, brow furrowed.

“We’re looking at a macrocosmic foetus, Amelia,” he said, voice low, “and the heart rate is dropping.”

I felt the blood surge in my ears, the metallic scent of my own blood mixing with the antiseptic.

Every contraction slammed my pelvis apart, and the room’s sterile chill could not numb the heat of my fury.

“He can’t fit,” I managed between gasps, “please… don’t do this.”

He finally glanced my way, not with concern but with irritation.

“Amelia, stop trying to run my operating room the way you run your ER.”

Sophie’s eyes widened, a rehearsed smile creasing her lips.

“Dr. Bennett… please don’t be upset with Dr. Grant,” she murmured, as if apologizing for a mistake I never made.

The monitor’s line throbbed, a jagged rhythm that seemed to echo my own frantic heartbeat.

Forced Delivery, Heartbeat Fades

Cameron’s voice cut through the chaos, sharp and uncompromising.

“We’re proceeding with a vaginal delivery. No C‑section.”

The room seemed to shrink as I stared at his back, the monitor’s cadence growing erratic.

My lungs burned; I could feel the baby’s head crowning, a swollen mound of flesh pressing against my perineum.

Blood soaked my gown, a hot river that stained the white sheets.

“It’s just another case, Amelia,” Sophie whispered, leaning close, “you knocked over the medication tray because you were in pain. Nothing more.”

The fabricated excuse hung in the air, thin as the sheet of paper I’d once signed on emergency protocols.

Another contraction slammed through me, and the monitor’s line flatlined for a breath‑long instant.

Everyone froze, the beeping halted, and a deafening silence filled the room.

“Call backup!” a nurse shouted, but Cameron’s hand was already on the delivery table, his grip iron‑clad.

He barked, “Continue! We’re not stopping now.”

The baby’s heart rate plummeted, the screen flashing red, a desperate plea for life.
