I Kneel at My Birthday Party Only to Call My Brothers and Plot the Vance Family’s Revenge

I Kneel at My Birthday Party Only to Call My Brothers and Plot the Vance Family’s Revenge Save

Section 1 – The Secret Library

I slipped away from the head table, the marble cold against my knees still echoing in my bones.

“Noah,” I whispered, catching his eye across the room, my voice barely a thread.

He gave a curt nod, his jaw set, and slipped into the crowd like a shadow.

Moments later, a service door ajar, he slipped in, followed by three men in tailored suits, their earpieces barely audible.

“Flora, we’ve been watching,” Noah said, voice low, as we descended the hidden staircase.

The library smelled of old leather and cedar, a sanctuary hidden behind a false wall of books.

He motioned to his team, who melted into the darkness, guns holstered, eyes scanning.

“The Vances have been under our surveillance for months,” he said, laying a thin folder on the mahogany table.

My breath hitched; the weight of the secret felt like a second set of chains.

“Are you sure they won’t notice?” I asked, the tremor in my voice betraying my calm.

He smiled thinly. “They think we’re quiet. They’ve never seen the Sterling network move.”

We both heard the distant clink of crystal, the murmurs of the party still muffled through the stone walls.

“Give me a moment,” Noah whispered, opening the folder, his fingers brushing the embossing of our family crest.

Section 2 – The Dossier and the Gunman

The folder cracked open, revealing glossy prints of Clover slipping a painted canvas into a private jet.

“Art smuggling,” Noah muttered, tapping a photo of Clover’s signature on a stolen piece.

Next page: ledgers marked with Isaac’s initials, numbers siphoned from Vance accounts into offshore accounts.

“He’s been embezzling for years,” I whispered, the words tasting like acid.

We leaned over the documents, my heart thudding louder than the distant music.

“This is enough to bring them down,” Noah said, his eyes never leaving the numbers.

Suddenly, the chandelier flickered and the ballroom lights died, plunging the estate into darkness.

A low click echoed in the library, and the heavy door burst open.

A figure in a black mask stepped in, a rifle glinting in the faint emergency glow.

“Hands where I can see them,” the gunman snarled, his voice distorted by a voice‑modulator.

Isaac, still bruised from the earlier humiliation, froze, his champagne glass clattering to the floor.

“Give me the files,” the masked man demanded, aiming the barrel directly at Isaac’s chest.

“What do you want with us?” I asked, my voice a whisper swallowed by the tension.

He didn’t answer, only tightened his grip on the weapon, the barrel shaking slightly.

“No one moves until the papers are in my hands,” he growled, the room holding its breath.
