I Took My Mom to Prom, Then My Stepsister Humiliated Her—And My Father Finally Stood Up for Her

I Took My Mom to Prom, Then My Stepsister Humiliated Her—And My Father Finally Stood Up for Her Save

Mom and I Walk In

We slipped through the double doors, Mom’s hand warm around mine, the thrum of bass vibrating the floor.

The lights pulsed like neon heartbeats, flashing across her pale blue gown that caught every sparkle in the room.

A photographer darted forward, his camera clicking as he framed us. “You two look amazing!” he shouted, snapping a quick shot.

I felt a ripple of curiosity ripple through the crowd; some heads turned, eyebrows raised, others whispered, “Is that her mom?”

Mom’s smile was the brightest thing in the hall, a grin she hadn’t worn in years.

From across the room, I spotted Mike leaning against a column, his eyes soft, watching us with a quiet pride.

Near the glittering bar, Brianna’s friends huddled, their giggles stifled, their whispers uneasy.

Even Brianna, perched on a velvet couch, stared with a scowl that cracked the air.

“You’re really doing this?” she muttered, half to herself, half to the empty space.

Brianna’s Revenge at the Booth

She stood, fury propelling her toward the DJ booth, her heels clicking like a marching drum.

“Yo, change that song,” she shouted, voice cutting through the chatter, “play something… something that’ll make Mom look ridiculous!”

The DJ, a lanky kid with earbuds, blinked, then obliged, swapping the current pop anthem for a cheesy, over‑the‑top ballad.

The room fell silent, the bass dying as the new track sputtered.

All eyes snapped to us. Mom’s smile flickered, then dimmed, her shoulders tightening.

Mike pushed through the sea of students, his face hardening like steel.

He reached the DJ, gestured sharply, and the music stopped dead.

He turned, his gaze locking on Brianna, a low growl humming in his throat.

“You think you can humiliate her?” he said, voice low, and his hand closed around her arm, his eyes flashing a secret that could change everything.

Mike Drags Brianna Behind the Stage

“Brianna, you’re coming with me,” Mike said, his hand like a vice around her wrist.

She tried to yank free, her heel clicking against the concrete floor, but his grip didn’t loosen.

“What are you doing? Let me go!” she hissed, eyes flashing with defiance.

The hallway behind the stage smelled of dust and old curtains, a stark contrast to the glitter of the ballroom.

Mike’s voice dropped to a low growl. “You think this is a joke? You think you can mock the woman who gave me a son?”

Brianna’s breath hitched; she could feel the pulse of the music still thudding in the walls, now muffled by the thick curtains.

“You don’t know anything about us,” she snapped, trying to sound brave.

He tightened his hold. “You will learn. And if you keep this up—” He paused, eyes narrowing. “—there are consequences you haven’t even imagined.”
