My Niece Stole the Show by Yelling the Groom Is a Bad Man at My Wedding

My Niece Stole the Show by Yelling the Groom Is a Bad Man at My Wedding Save

Backstage Confrontation

“Daniel, we need to talk now,” I whispered, pulling him away from the bustling crew.

His eyes darted to the side, searching for an escape.

“What did Lily see?” I demanded, feeling her tiny voice echo in my head.

He swallowed hard, his jaw tightening.

“She’s just a kid. I was in the bathroom when she shouted,” he stammered, voice trembling.

My gaze dropped to his hand. He was rubbing a faint scar on his knuckle, the skin pink‑white in the dim light.

“Why are you hiding that?” I asked, the scar catching the spill of stage light.

He clenched his fist, the scar flaring with each pulse.

“It’s nothing, really,” he muttered, a nervous laugh escaping.

“Nothing doesn’t make a girl scream ‘the groom is a bad man,’” I replied, feeling the surge of betrayal.

His shoulders slumped, but he forced a smile.

“Lily’s imagination… maybe she heard something wrong.” He tried to mask his hands, but the tremor gave him away.

“Tell me what you heard,” I pressed, the hallway echoing with distant wedding music.

He hesitated, the scar flashing again, then whispered, “I was in the restroom, I swear.”

My mind raced, remembering the tiny finger that had pointed at him.

“If that’s true, why are you so nervous?” I asked, feeling the weight of every guest’s gaze behind us.

He swallowed, eyes flicking to the doorway where Lily’s pink dress slipped by.

Whispers in the Kitchen

Lily burst through the curtain of orchids, cheeks flushed, clutching her basket like a lifeline.

“Auntie, I need to tell someone,” she whispered, eyes wide with urgency.

She darted toward the kitchen, heart pounding, the scent of rosemary and baked bread filling the air.

Mr. Alvarez, the caterer, was ladling sauce when she slipped onto his toe.

“Miss Lily?” he asked, a smile softening his tired face.

She leaned close, breath hot against his ear.

“Daniel… he was with a woman in the staff room. I saw them. She had a red scarf.”

His eyebrows knit, the ladle clinking against the pot.

“A woman? Here? At my wedding?” he murmured, surprise tinged with concern.

Lily nodded, tiny fingers trembling.

“She wasn’t a guest. She was… she was hiding.”

Mr. Alvarez glanced toward the hallway, the lights flickering like a nervous heartbeat.

“Stay right here,” he whispered, pulling a handkerchief from his pocket. “I’ll check.”

Before I could reach the kitchen door, the chandelier sputtered, then went dark.
