The Day My Husband Introduced His Pregnant Mistress Right After I Gave Birth Changed Everything I Thought I Knew

The Day My Husband Introduced His Pregnant Mistress Right After I Gave Birth Changed Everything I Thought I Knew Save

Confronting the Unthinkable

An hour after I gave birth to our son, tension hangs thick in the hospital room. I glare at Byron, still reeling from his bombshell revelation, while Mary stands beside him, her hand resting protectively on her belly. “Are you telling me your mistress is pregnant, and you actually had the nerve to bring her here?!” My voice is sharper than I intended, but the words spill out like venom.

The shock in the room is palpable. My mother’s eyes widen in disbelief, and my sister’s mouth moves soundlessly. Even Byron’s mother looks stricken, her hand pressed to her chest as if she’s trying to catch her breath. I can feel the whispers swirling around us, a storm of disbelief and pity.

“I… uh… wanted to tell you something,” Byron stammers. “Mary is pregnant too. The baby IS MINE.”

As I process his words, Mary catches my gaze. “We met at the gym,” she says, her voice steady. “He was so supportive during your treatments.” Her smile feels like a knife twisting deeper. I blink at the reality of it all, unable to reconcile what I’ve just heard. How could he betray me like this? “Months ago,” she adds, and my heart sinks.

“You think because I was struggling to have a baby, you could just replace me?” I spit, disbelief sparking like fire. Byron shrugs, nonchalant. “Don’t be so dramatic. I’m going to be with Mary.” The dismissive tone stings, and I feel my resolve cracking. Byron couldn’t even muster any regret.

The Shocking Truth Emerges

“This isn’t happening,” I tell myself, but somehow, it is. As Byron continues to ramble on, trying to justify his actions, my heart races. “You pushed me away,” he claims, his eyes darting around the room as he glances at Mary. “I needed someone.” Anger boils inside me, and I feel bile rising, but I hold my tongue. What’s the point?

Byron’s father stands nearby, his gaze oddly accepting, and that realization sends a shiver down my spine. Why isn’t he horrified? The question gnaws at me. Just when I think it couldn’t get any worse, I see Byron’s father pull out his phone, his expression shifting from surprise to something darker, more complicated—concern?

“I need to take this,” he mumbles, stepping out of the room.

My stomach twists as I wonder what other shocking news could possibly follow today’s calamity. Does he know something I don’t? The weight of silence is suffocating. I can only watch, the world moving in slow motion as I seek answers hidden behind their caught expressions. This can’t be the end.
